In 1978, Bob Baxter founded "Baxter Structured Annuity & Insurance Agencies" following a distinguished 13-year career with two major casualty insurers. Bob was a trailblazer and an innovator in the field of structured settlements and the first to offer this rather new approach in the Canadian legal landscape.
His innovation and entrepreneurial drive were rivaled only by his dedication to helping people. It is Bob's unfailing commitment to assist those in need that is the cornerstone of what is now Baxter Structures.
Bob was admired by his colleagues and competitors alike, he was a true mentor who was always willing to share his invaluable experience and insights. He played an instrumental role in the professional and educational development of the industry, through speaking engagements and training seminars for insurance professionals and lawyers.
Bob was a genuine friend to all, the consummate family man, and a gentleman of exceptional integrity. He placed the highest value on his relationships with people, “above and beyond” described his signature style for anyone who needed his support. Bob never hesitated to give, in any way he could, and was always there for his family, friends, and clients. He treated everyone with respect and kindness, and with his warm sense of humour, he ensured that everyone around him felt welcome and at ease.
Whether on his motorcycle or in the kitchen, Bob was an adventurer who never shied away from a challenge. It was with this courageous spirit that Bob confronted the greatest challenge of his life - his battle with cancer. His fight was as brave as it was inspirational, and he is missed by all who knew him.
Although Baxter Structures is now without its founder, Bob's legacy of exemplary support, assistance, and care still guarantees that every client is given the means to move on.
